What is the Delphi Third Party Alliance (D3PA)?
This is a community-driven promotional tie-up of Delphi vendors to promote a healthy ecosystem for third-party tools and components within the Delphi programming language community. Their mission is to benefit developers by fostering collaboration, sharing resources, and supporting the growth of third-party solutions.
The Delphi third-party alliance site - http://www.d3pa.org/ (Intentionally unlinked, goes to cyber-squatter site), is linked to, by many third-party vendors.
Their former website from Delphi Third Party Alliance – Delphi, Delphi, Delphi (archive.org) shows years-long under construction notice.
Mostly under construction
Their Glitter chat … hosts… nobody. Almost nobody commenting or chatting, despite these third-party vendors being more than two decades in business.
D3PA Gripe?
I have nothing against Delphi third-party vendors. In fact, I want them to succeed.
How many developers, when building websites, not notice broken links on their website, and not remove them?
After several years, do Delphi vendors, whose sites link to D3PA, not know the site’s registration has expired, and is defunct?
I wonder, if, hundreds of thousands of Delphi developers, did not notice D3PA goes cyber-squatting site?
Maybe I’m living outside the Delphi distorted reality bubble. What do you think?
Article correction (9th Sept 2024): A member made the website - https://www.d3pa.org/, and, the original site is a FB page (as posted in comments - you need to register to SubStack to see comments). Still, certain Delphi sites still link to the defunct website. This article discusses about certain Delphi sites linking to a squatter site. This article is still accurate as of today.
