Rare criticism on Delphi's iOS and Android implementation
Dissent in the Delphi blogosphere is rare. A few critical comments, your MVP status is gone. Another bad post, you are removed from DelphiFeeds.com
There's a post going around, where the blogger has troubles getting Delphi for Android, to work. You can read the original post at https://delphicodemonkey.blogspot.com/2024/11/delphi-mobile-development-gripes.html
Dissent in the Delphi blogosphere is rare.
A few critical comments, your MVP status is gone.
Another bad blog-post, you are removed from DelphiFeeds.com.
More bad comments, you get stalked and harassed by Delphi blowhards.
What's wrong with Delphi?
The blog poster describes how out of touch Delphi has become. When Delphi installs, it does not install correctly, the Android dependencies and… non-detection of Android devices in the Delphi IDE.
Install What?
Delphi should have better Android package management, better JVM support and/or to install various Android libraries.
Next, there should be better Android device pairing - providing official support for certain types of Huawei, Samsung, Pixel phones?
Need better examples.
There should beLogCat integration into Delphi’s debug windows (note: a third-party package FGXNative has this).
There should be better bar-code reader integration, better printer integration, better custom hardware integration (ESP32), more Bluetooth examples.
The blog poster surmises there is a need for more tutorials and resources.
In the Android git-sphere and blogosphere, there's Alcinoe and Kastari, and formerly JVSoft. Shouldn't they be part of Delphi?
In iOS, there's a need to directly consume Swift and Objective-C modules. There are iOS hardware-based adapters with add-ons that work for all languages except for ... Delphi.
Can you help Delphi Code Monkey? What are your thoughts on using Delphi for Android and iOS?
